
Dec 02, 2004 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) -- Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Thursday (2 December) that the Austrian mobile operator Hutchison 3G Austria, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Honk Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa Limited, had selected Nokia to expand its 3G WCDMA network.
With the agreement Nokia would continue as the sole supplier for Hutchison 3G Austria's core network, according to the company.
Under the contract Nokia would supply a range of 3G WCDMA circuit and packet core network infrastructure, including Nokia Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) and Home Location Register (HLR), Nokia 3G SGSN as well as the Nokia FlexiHopper Plus microwave radio solution.
Nokia would also provide a wide variety of services including operations and support services, installation, spare parts management, training, software maintenance and extensive care support.
